MBKM ACTIVITIES
In order to prepare students to face rapid social, cultural, work world and technological advances, student competencies must be prepared to be more in line with the needs of the times. Link and match not only with the industrial world and the work world but also with the rapidly changing future. Universities are required to be able to design and implement innovative learning processes so that students can achieve learning outcomes covering aspects of attitude, knowledge, and skills optimally and always relevant. The Independent Learning - Independent Campus Policy is expected to be the answer to these demands. Independent Campus is a form of learning in higher education that is autonomous and flexible so that an innovative, non-restrictive learning culture is created, and in accordance with student needs. The main programs are: ease of opening new study programs, changes to the higher education accreditation system, ease of state universities becoming legal state universities, and the right to study three semesters outside the study program. Students are given the freedom to take credits outside the study program, the three semesters in question are 1 semester of the opportunity to take courses outside the study program and 2 semesters to carry out learning activities outside the university.
Various forms of learning activities outside of college, including internships/work practices in industry or other workplaces, implementing community service projects in villages, teaching in educational units, participating in student exchanges, conducting research, conducting entrepreneurial activities, creating independent studies/projects, and participating in humanitarian programs. All of these activities must be carried out with guidance from lecturers. The independent campus is expected to provide contextual field experiences that will improve students' competencies as a whole, ready to work, or create new jobs. The learning process in the Independent Campus is one manifestation of student-centered learning which is very essential. Learning in the Independent Campus provides challenges and opportunities for the development of innovation, creativity, capacity, personality, and student needs, as well as developing independence in seeking and finding knowledge through the reality and dynamics of the field such as ability requirements, real problems, social interaction, collaboration, self-management, performance demands, targets and their achievements. Through a well-designed and implemented independent learning program, students' hard and soft skills will be formed strongly. The Independent Learning Program - Independent Campus is expected to be able to answer the challenges of Higher Education to produce graduates who are in line with the development of the times, the progress of science and technology, the demands of the business world and the industrial world, and the dynamics of society.
